This Is Why Jay Leno Doesn’t Own A Ferrari: “It’s Like Rich Guys That Go To A Dominatrix”

Jay Leno has an astonishing number of cars, motorcycles, and other weird and whacky vehicles to his name. From jet cars to Teslas, the famous chat show and car show presenter has it all. Except for a Ferrari. In this piece, we answer the question as to why Jay Leno doesn’t own a Ferrari.

Why Doesn’t Jay Leno Own A Ferrari?

Jay Leno has revealed that it’s not the cars he doesn’t like. Instead, it’s the experience of buying one, comparing it to paying for a dominatrix:

“It’s like rich guys that go to a dominatrix. Oh, she kicked the crap out of me, it was fantastic! That’s great, some guys like that. I don’t.”

He admits that he really likes the cars, however.

“They’re excellent cars, I just saw the SF90, I just never liked dealing with the dealers”.

He continues to compare his experiences with Ferrari to other brands such as the British marque McLaren. He explains that the brand once talked him out of spending an extra $20,000 on carbon brakes because they were unnecessary for his way of driving. On top of this, they then tuned the car, adding an extra 25 horsepower to his MP4-12C for no charge.

Porsche also came up in the conversation, revealing that he didn’t even need to go to the dealership to collect his car, which was delivered along with a host of merchandise such as a jacket, a book on the car, and some pens. Obviously, I would expect his name had something to do with this, but it’s a nice sentiment nonetheless.

Alongside this, Porsche even sent out a couple of its mechanics to help ready him for putting the supercar on a lift.

He said:

“You’re spending an extraordinary amount of money, you should be made to feel like a customer.”

He then remembers the time he was forced to return to a Ferrari dealership to get a certificate of authenticity. Suffice to say, there’s a large gap between Ferrari and other brands when it comes to customer satisfaction, I feel.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
