Watch Guy Martin Break Records In A 153mph JCB Tractor

When we first wrote about the record breaking JCB tractor, you guys absolutely loved it. Now, we get to see the video of adrenaline junkie, legendary motorcyclist, and all-round nice guy Guy Martin take the Fastrac Two to 153mph.

Guy had previously set a record of 103.6 mph at Yorkshire’s Elvington Airfield in a Fastrac 8000, but JCB wanted more. Last month, JCB and Guy returned and set a new record of 135.191 mph behind a lighter and more aerodynamic version of the tractor. In one direction, the tractor reached 153.7 mph, but an average speed from opposing directions has been taken for the record.

Guy is no stranger to danger with many crazy records sat under his belt. For example, he’s set the fastest speed on a gravity-powered snow sled at 83.49 mph, the fastest soapbox at 85.61 mph, and the highest speed on a Wall of Death at a very scary 78.15 mph.

This tractor, while not as dangerous as other records set by the daredevil, is powered by a 7.2-litre diesel engine which is modified to produce a terrifying 1,000hp and 1,843lb ft of torque.

“It doesn’t feel like a tractor [to drive]”, Martin told Guinness World Records. “From the outside, it looks like a tractor but it doesn’t sit in and it doesn’t go anything like a tractor.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
