F1 News: Lewis Hamilton And George Russell Bond Over Surfing – “Think I’ll Stick To Four Wheels”

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have been hanging out recently outside of F1, and after the 7-time champion took him surfing, he’s now pushing him to go ski-diving. The Australian Grand Prix was a successful one for the Mercedes team with Russell getting his first podium finish with Mercedes, and Hamilton coming in P4 one place behind him.

Mercedes has been struggling with performance this year with Hamilton telling the press several times that he hasn’t got confidence that his car will compete for a win this year. What the Silver Arrows have got, however, is reliability. This puts them second in the constructors’ standings in front of Red Bull and behind Ferrari. This obviously calls for celebration, as the two drivers enjoy their time off between now and Imola later this month.

Hamilton and Russell went surfing together in Melbourne and a photo of them both was posted by Hamilton:

“Got in as much surfing as I could in Melbourne,” Hamilton said. “It’s so good for training, I’m trying to get the whole team on boards, so far I got @georgerussell63. He’s… getting there.”

Russell posted a similar photo with the following caption:

“Cool surf in Melbourne with LH. Think I’ll stick to four wheels…”

Via his Twitter account, Hamilton admits that “Next up: getting George Russell to skydive,” he tells his followers.

“Not going tandem with you though…” Russell replied with a laughing emoji.

Hamilton recently uploaded a video of him skydiving in Dubai to his Instagram account, garnering over 4.5million views.

“Had the best day yesterday. A very ideal way to spend a Sunday. I’ve been sky diving for a couple years now but naturally through the pandemic I didn’t get to go. Got 10 jumps in, learned something new each time. It’s such a great way to clear the mind, recenter and refocus on the week ahead,” he said.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
