F1 News: Lewis Hamilton Reacts To His third Place Finish – “I Gave It Everything”

Lewis Hamilton had an excellent race today at the British Grand Prix, and while we thought he was going to take first place at his home track, he was eventually pushed back to a podium-grabbing P3.

After struggling with porpoising and low downforce for the majority of the season so far, the W13 now looks like its potential is being utilised after an upgrade for this weekend. Unfortunately, a pitstop for Hamilton cost him almost two seconds putting him behind the Ferraris, but the British racing driver was happy to receive another P3.

“I gave it everything, tried to chase the Ferrari but they were too quick.,” he told the press.

“I was in the battle with Checo, they were too quick for me on the straights.

“Thanks to the team for the hard work with the updates, we’ve made a step closer to them. We lost time in the pit stop, and then I was chasing.”

Hamilton put to ease fans who were questioning the choice of tyres, too. He continued:

“The pace was great on both sets, once you have a Red Bull behind they are so fast on the straights,” he admitted.

Over 400,000 fans were cheering on the drivers today, and Hamilton was grateful for their continued support:

“I have to give it up to the crowd. Thank you to everyone for the incredible support, we don’t see this around the world.

“I am glad everyone was safe from the big crash. We will continue to push, let’s try and be the best we can.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
