F1 News: Max Verstappen Shocked By Hungarian GP Win

Max Verstappen put in an incredible performance for Red Bull in the Hungarian Grand Prix. After starting in tenth position following engine issues in qualifying, Verstappen powered through the field to go ahead and take the victory.

Verstappen explained in his post race interview with David Coulthard that he was not expecting to take the win today, especially after he span out during the race. Luckily, he was able to catch it and he didn’t let it affect his performance. He explained:

“I was hoping I could get close to a podium. Very tricky conditions out there but I think we had a really good strategy. Always reactive and pitting at the rights time. Really good out laps and even with the 360 spin we won the race.”

“I was struggling with the shifts and clutch. We had to change a few things to not burn the clutch and that cost us some performance and that led to the spin. It was a lot of fun out there,”
