F1 News: Max Verstappen Will Not Return To Drive To Survive Season 4

Fans of the Netflix show Formula 1: Drive to Survive will be happy to hear that a fourth season is coming next month. But while fans have loved exploring the behind-the-scenes of the sport and the relationships between the drivers and manufacturers, Max Verstappen isn’t happy about the way he’s been portrayed so far on the show.

Because of this, the 2021 F1 World Champion Max Verstappen will not be returning for the fourth season after also not being involved in the third season of the show. This is a huge shame as interviews with the champion would be very much enjoyed by fans of the sport looking to get more info on the controversial ending of the series.

After a controversial 2021 season, it’s no surprise that the Belgian-Dutch driver doesn’t want to be involved with the show after the rivalry between himself and Lewis Hamilton sparked fans across the world to complain about the race, which has, of course, resulted in some viewers reflecting this anger towards him.

Earlier in the 2021 F1 season, he told Associated Press the following:

“I understand that it needs to be done to boost the popularity in America.

“But from my side as a driver, I don’t like being part of it.

“They faked a few rivalries when don’t really exist

“So I decided to not be a part of it and did not give any more interviews after that because then there is nothing you can show.

“I am not really a dramatic show kind of person, I just want facts and real things to happen.”

This being televised in a dramatic manner could cause great upset for the driver, and potentially Red Bull.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 4 will air on Netflix on March 11, 2022.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of what happened behind the scenes of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and what resulted in Michael Masi leaving his role as race director. Whatever we see, Season 4 is going to be really good.
