Jeremy Clarkson Reacts To Sebastian Vettel Retiring From F1

Jeremy Clarkson has joined the many celebrities reacting to the announcement made today by Sebastian Vettel that he will be retiring at the end of this F1 season.

Sebastian Vettel started his social media account to post the video releasing the news. The four-time world champion began his career with Toro Rosso and Red Bull where he won the 2010 and 2013 championships. Vettel joined Ferrari in 2015 where his ‘rivalry’ with Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton, really took off. The start of the 2021 season saw the German driver join the Aston Martin team which unfortunately has not paid off so well for him.

In the released statement, Vettel said:

“The decision to retire has been a difficult one for me to take, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about it,”

“At the end of the year I want to take some more time to reflect on what I will focus on next; it is very clear to me that, being a father, I want to spend more time with my family.

“But today is not about saying goodbye. Rather, it is about saying thank you – to everyone – not least to the fans, without whose passionate support Formula 1 could not exist.”

The Grand Tour host joined in with sharing his thoughts on Vettel’s news, posting to Twitter, he wrote:

“Seb was a bright star in F1 but I think he’ll be even brighter when he’s out of it.”

There has already been a lot of speculation around what Vettel will decide to do next. In response to Clarkson on Twitter, another user recreated the Clarkson’s Farm press image replacing Clarkson with Vettel, joking that Vettel has farms so could join the farming show world. He said:

“I hear he’s got a couple of acres in Switzerland…”

We are sure that Vettel will be very successful in whatever he decides to do next, even if he does decide to follow in Clarkson’s shoes and start a farm.
