Lewis Hamilton Is Reaching Breaking Point After Monaco GP – “I’m Done Shaking”

After struggling at the Monaco Grand Prix as Mercedes seems to fall back into its porpoising habits, Lewis Hamilton is obviously starting to become annoyed with the performance of his car.

The 7-time world champion was stuck behind Alpine throughout the race with Esteban Ocon being the first to make his car as wide as possible, followed by Fernando Alonso. Fans went mad to see Alonso leading a train of slow cars as he split the drivers into two groups – a testament to how bad the Monaco track is.

He then continued shoot off putting serious distance between himself and Hamilton, for a moment taking the fastest lap of the race.

The duel between Hamilton and Ocon resulted in the latter receiving a 5 second penalty thanks to a bit of contact, but it was Alonso Toto Wolff was annoyed with, angered by the fact he was going as slow as a “Formula 2” car.

Hamilton ended P8, a place behind Alonso, and it’s no surprise that he was “frustrated” by this:

“It was a bit frustrating but this is what it is, you just have to be behind it!” he told Motorsport.com.

Teammate George Russell once again had a great drive, finishing P5 – ahead of Hamilton for the 6th time in a row. Hamilton was asked whether he was disappointed in how his season has started:

“It is the way it is, and there’s not much I can do about it. We will go back to the factory and try harder, try again in the next race.”

On top of this, the W13 once again suffered from porpoising, which Hamilton was keen to comment on:

“I’m praying the car doesn’t feel like it does here.

“This was the worst in this car so far because of the potholes.

“I’m looking forward to it going away – just my teeth, my jaw moving all the time. I’m done shaking.

“I don’t know if it’s the porpoising. I hope it’s not what we had in the last race, so I want it to not be a problem. But if there are potholes, then in the corners we can have them.”
