The Weirdest Part Of The Miami Grand Prix Will Return For 2023 Plus More Changes

The 2022 Miami Grand Prix felt like a fever dream. There were several complaints from fans of the motorsport, but one thing that created a lot of social media chatter was the fake Miami harbour that consisted of fake yachts and, even more hilariously, fake water.

The water was a vinyl sticker that was stretched over the floor at Turns 6, 7, and 8, and it was pure sh*te. It looked tacky and was a really weird choice for the track that was placed right next to water anyway. Well, as they say, any PR is good PR, and the bosses at Miami loved the reaction this strange choice had on us fans so, as you read from the headline, it’s back next year.

The Hard Rock Beach Club and the fan zone will also be returning, and a new grandstand capable of a 3,000-person capacity will be added. More water stations will accompany this as well as areas of shade and additional viewing platforms.

The president of the Miami GP, Tyler Epp, said the following:

“The whole team is working hard to ensure we deliver a fantastic year two experience for our fans, and it’s very exciting to be able to release the tickets to those on the pre-registered list next week.

“2023 will see the return of the iconic MIA Marina and Hard Rock Beach Club which were some of the most popular parts of the MIA campus.

“We have listened to our fans from last year and plan to increase shade, water stations, and will be adding additional viewing platforms around the circuit.

“In year two, we’ll continue to showcase the best of Miami – the culture, entertainment, food, music, and community.”

2023 will see the United States hosting three races with Las Vegas being added to the lineup. And unlike any other races on the calendar, the Las Vegas GP will take place on the Saturday instead of the Sunday.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
