F1 Drivers React To Confirmation Of Las Vegas Grand Prix
The Las Vegas Grand Prix has been confirmed to be joining the F1 calendar for 2023. And while fans of the sport have been questioning just how fun this track will be, drivers seem to be over the moon as a third location in the United States is made available to them.
The CEO and president of Liberty Media Greg Maffei was very happy to reveal the news:
“Iconic Las Vegas and Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport, is the perfect marriage of speed and glamour.
“Our confidence in this unique opportunity is evident in our decision to assume the promoter role for the Las Vegas Grand Prix in partnership with Live Nation.
“We could not be more excited to work with our local partners to create a marquee event. The potential of Formula 1 has been well demonstrated over the last several seasons and the Las Vegas GP will only take it to the next level.”
But what do the drivers have to say? Let’s take a look:
Lewis Hamilton
“It’s gonna be a pretty hardcore event.”
He continued: “Knowing that it’s a real party city… It’s difficult for a racing driver. How am I going to focus that weekend?
“There’s going to be so much going on.”
Max Verstappen
“I think a few drivers might not wake up for the race itself.
“Let’s not do back to back for this one. Let’s give it, like, two week’s break before and after.”
The interviewer call is a detox week.
“If you call it detox, yeah.
“It’s gonna be fun.”
George Russell
“I cannot imagine what it’s going to be like.
“It’s just gonna be absolutely madness, let’s go!”
Sebastian Vettel
“I’m sure that some drivers will spend some money in the casinos, and hopefully try and gain it back on Sunday.”
Mick Schumacher
“That’s crazy, I think we’ll find a few drivers in the casino then, me being one of them.”
Sergio Perez
“No way! We’re going there?
“No way!
Lando Norris
“Red and black baby. All my earnings will be going on number four.”
Pierre Gasly
“No way, is that how you’re telling it to me?” he asks the interviewer.
“No way, I cannot believe it.
“Are we gonna take that main road?”
Yes, the interviewer confirms.
“No! That’s gonna be insane.”
Carlos Sainz
“Is this true, is this happening? Nice.”

Valtteri Bottas
“Might need to try and behave better than I did last time.”
