F1 News: Fans Spot Easter Eggs Hidden In Red Bull’s Race To Miami Video

Sergio Perez was lucky enough to pilot his Red Bull F1 car around the roads of Miami as the team journaled his first flavour of the upcoming circuit in a hilarious video.

The engine was deafening as the Mexican racing driver took to the streets of the city behind the wheel of the RB7 as he absorbed the life of the area. Along the journey he was joined by the Miami Dolphins plater Byron Jones, skier Parks Bonifay, and before long ended up at the Hard Rock Stadium.

The driver completed a lap of the track which, as you can see from the video, was still under construction at the time.

“I loved taking part in my first Red Bull road trip,” Perez said. “I remember seeing the one of Daniel [Ricciardo] crossing the Golden Gate Bridge [in San Francisco] and never thought I would get the chance to be part of it.

“I think Miami is the perfect place for Formula 1, it’s a very fun city and there’s a good energy there. The track is looking awesome and I can’t wait to see all the fans there. Austin always feels like a home race for me and I think Miami will be similar.”

But fans were quick to point out a small Easter egg, with it being uncovered first by Reddit user u/RealRcade.

As you can see from the embed above, during team principal Christian Horner’s realisation that Checo had left their car illegally parked in China Town, Pierre Gasly had liked the post on Instagram.

This has to be a reference to Pierre Gasly seemingly liking everything on Instagram, including memes about dogs, Instagram models, and, well, everything!

But the Reddit page took this even further. The number of views recorded on the video that Horner is looking at is 268,753. If translated into a hex cold for a colour, it’s a green similar to that of Aston Martin (see below).

Obviously this is a joke, with one user commenting:

“The color code is a shade of green that looks like Aston Martin’s green. So Pierre to AM confirmed? /s”

Another user also found out something very interesting about the video and its focus on the number 11:

“Copying my comment from another post, you want to talk about numbers? Check this out lol……The 11 is strong in this video. 11 hour driving distance, 11:11 long video, Sergio is #11 and Sergio Perez is also 11 letters long.”

Hilarious stuff from the Red Bull media team.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
