F1 News: Ferrari Reveals “Short-Term Fix” After Double DNF At Azerbaijan GP
After a double DNF during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ferrari is rushing to improve their cars’ reliability ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix this coming weekend. Now, the team has revealed that they’ve got a “short-term fix” for Carlos Sainz’ car, which suffered from a hydraulic issue.
Sainz left the race on lap 9. This was followed shortly by Charles Leclerc whose engine blew on lap 20. This hit the Ferrari driver hard as he was currently racing in P1 ahead of Max Verstappen, his main competition for this year’s world title.
Haas and Alfa Romeo, powered by Ferrari engines, also had power unit issues, leading to Kevin Magnussen and Zhou Guanyu to retire early from the race, too.
Now, while Ferrari is still looking into Leclerc’s issues, they’ve come up with a fix for Sainz.
“A challenging weekend for the team, but one that we’ll look to learn and build from,” Ferrari posted to Twitter.

Unfortunately for Ferrari, they lost the ground they’d made between them and Red Bull over the last few races with the Italian team now 80 behind.
Ferrari followed up the post with another, claiming that they still feel optimistic:
