F1 News: Sebastian Vettel Unlikely To Race At This Weekend’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
After a confirmed positive COVID test last week, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel still hasn’t been able to return a negative test that would enable him to race in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
After missing the opening race of the 2022 F1 season in Bahrain, Vettel fans were hoping to see him back behind the wheel as soon as possible. But it’s been confirmed by Aston Martin that he’s yet to return a negative test which will stop him from taking part in this coming weekend’s racing.
Nico Hulkengerg will be ready to take the wheel in Vettel’s absence if the driver isn’t able to test negative before Friday’s practice session.
UPDATE: Sebastian Vettel has not yet returned the required negative COVID test to fly to the #SaudiArabiaGP. Nico Hülkenberg will be in Jeddah to deputise for Seb if necessary. We will delay our final decision until Friday to provide Seb every opportunity to race.
