F1 News: Shocking Forecast Predicts Dramatic Monaco Grand Prix

As the highly anticipated Monaco Grand Prix approaches, Weather.com predicts a significant amount of rain throughout the event, adding an extra challenge to the world-famous street circuit.

Friday’s forecast indicates showers throughout the day in Monaco, with a 70 percent chance of rain and the potential for thunderstorms. Despite the wet conditions, the maximum temperature will reach 22 degrees Celsius, and the night is expected to be dry in the city-state.

Saturday’s outlook brings more uncertainty, as thunderstorms are anticipated along with continuous showers throughout the day and night. The temperature will be slightly cooler, reaching 21 degrees Celsius, and the chance of rain remains at 70 percent. Moving to Sunday, the weather forecast indicates showers throughout the day, but no signs of thunderstorms, making it highly likely that the race will be the first rain-affected event of the 2023 season.

Amidst the anticipation of wet conditions, the spotlight also falls on the new “Cinturato Blue” rain tyres developed by Pirelli. Originally intended for their debut at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the cancellation of the race opens the possibility of their first appearance in Monaco.

Mario Isola, representing Pirelli, expressed the potential for the new rain tyres to make their debut in Monaco, depending on the weather conditions. In a press release, Isola stated, “After the cancellation of Imola, Monaco could now be the debut for the new Cinturato Blue, full wets without tyre warmers, obviously depending on weather conditions.”

With rain expected, teams will closely monitor the weather forecast in order to adjust their strategies and ensure optimal performance on the challenging street circuit.

The action-packed Monaco Grand Prix weekend will kick off with Free Practice one and two on Friday, followed by the third free practice session and qualifying on Saturday. The highly anticipated race will take place on Sunday, providing fans with thrilling moments on the iconic streets of Monaco.
