Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Cancelled Due To Coronavirus

The Australian Grand Prix has been cancelled according to two senior Formula 1 sources on BBC Sport.

While there’s been no official confirmation, this comes as no surprise after McLaren pulled out of the race earlier today with one of its team members testing positive for the Coronavirus.

This announcement places the rest of the season in jeopardy, with the F1 and FIA both coming under criticism from teams, racers, and fans who believe they’ve handled it badly.

A total of 8 F1 workers have been tested positive for Coronavirus, and there’s a high risk of the virus spreading across the paddock with such close working environments.

The Vietnam Grand Prix is also expected to be affected, planned for April 5, with us still waiting for confirmation that the race will definitely go ahead. At this time, we can’t be sure, but will be expecting an answer soon.

With the Coronavirus spreading further each day, we wonder if the 2020 F1 Championship will happen at all.
