Lewis Hamilton Offered F1 Exit In Exciting New Deal

It’s safe to say that Lewis Hamilton has not had the best F1 season this year with the Mercedes having many issues this year. After the drama at the end of the 2021 season, Hamilton said he was coming back to the sport in 2022 in “fight mode”.

However, fans very quickly saw that wasn’t going to be the case during the first race of the 2022 season in Bahrain. Now, there are reports that Hamilton’s close friend and NBA legend Michael Jordan is trying to convince the seven-time world champion to join his NASCAR team.

Jordan is said to have suggested a salary of $25 million for Hamilton, but with Hamilton’s Mercedes contract in place until the end of the 2023 season, this has not come into fruition yet.

Hamilton doesn’t seem to want to look to his F1 retirement just yet. He has recently explained:

“For years we’ve been going around, up and down, with stories of retirement and stopping. For me, I feel healthier than I’ve ever felt, as I focus a lot on that – I’m feeling fit. I love what I’m doing and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon.”

The Mercedes driver is currently sitting sixth in the driver’s championship with 168 points, which is 167 points behind the current championship leader, Max Verstappen.

Hamilton went on to add that he would not look to leave Mercedes, he said:

“My goal was always to be with Mercedes. I love that we have the long partnership we have…I think there’s a lot of work, a lot to accomplish together, so I want to be a part of that.”

Fans are hoping to see an improvement with the Mercedes team for the 2023 season, but with Hamilton’s contract ending after that, who knows where we will see him next.
