Lewis Hamilton To Co-Produce A Formula 1 Film For Apple TV Starring Brad Pitt

There’s a new Formula 1 feature film coming to Apple screens near you now the company has confirmed it’s chosen Brad Pitt to star. Top Gun director Joseph Kosinki will be forming the magic behind the camera, and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is co-producing.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is behind this project, with it being confirmed to be greenlit by Apple Original Films.

The story consists of a former racer, played by Brad Pitt, revisiting his days of racing as he mentors and becomes the teammate of an up-and-coming driver.

Hamilton is joining the project as co-producer, but will also be advising, with producer Bruckheimer saying the following:

“His expertise is phenomenal,” he said to CNET. “It’s just great to listen to him, picking his brain with a writer and Joe on Zoom messages as they pitch the story.

“It’s the same thing as working with our fighter pilots [on Top Gun].

“He is like a fighter pilot — 12 inches off the ground!”

There’s no word of a production start date or when it will be released, but we’re very excited to hear more about the film, especially after the success of the Netflix docu-series, Drive to Survive. We do however know that ahead of its digital release to Apple TV, it will have a month-long life in cinemas.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
