Samsung Announces The Odyssey Neo G8 Gaming Monitor: Incredibly Curvy With 4K Quality

A smaller version of the Samsung Odyssey Neo curved gaming monitor is on its way. Called the Odyssey Neo G8, it boasts a 32-inch screen with the same 1000R curvature that we’ve seen before on the 49-inch Odysee Neo G9 that foes for $2,500.

With a radius of 1000, this is a lot more curved than those with 1800R and 1500R screens which are much more prevalent in the screen market at the moment. On top of its crazy shape, the G8 also has 2,000 nits of peak brightness and uses a Quantum Mini-LED panel to create impressive picture quality.

As of yet, Samsung is yet to reveal a price or even a release date for the Neo G8, but we have been treated to a few press photos for now which really show off the insane curve and interesting design language. In fact, it’s safe to say that it shares a very similar design to that of the G9, with the only real differences being the screen size and a 4k resolution over the G9’s QHD Plus.

Samsung also tells us that this is the first 4k monitor to support a 240Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time. And if that isn’t already warming you to the G8, it’s also compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia’s G-Sync adaptive sync tech, meaning games won’t stutter and tear. Of course, you need a GPU powerful enough to match this.

It won’t be long until CES 2022, so it’s interesting that Samsung has chosen now to reveal this product. And it’s likely that more details, plus the price, won’t be coming until after the trade show. Still, so far so good.
