DriveTribe Receives $6.5 Million Funding from FOX | Clarkson, Hammond & May

In another round of funding, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May have received another $6.5M in funding to add to the $5.5M in funding they have already received from Breyer Capital and Atomico.

DriveTribe is a online community of automotive enthusiasts that will be broke up into “tribes” and allowed to create content through videos, articles, social posts and interactive experiences. The plan is for it to go live in November and they have already taken applications for Tribe Leaders.

So far, no one really knows where the $12M in funding is going to go – facilities, talent, infrastructure, etc, but with the backing of Clarkson, Hammond and May, this gives them a better chance than most motorsport communities that start from scratch.

We just hope they’re not being taken by some “cool app company” who sold them with buzzword like “social media, viral, venture capital, blah blah blah.”
