Fastback Trucks Are Here! Who Wants One? – Aero X

There are two different types of truck enthusiasts in this world. The first type is like my fiancee’s father. He owns a chicken farm (Mee’s Wood – shameless plug), and uses his Hilux everyday to drive through boggy farmland, haul around tubs of water and fencing and feed, and never washes it. Because the next day, it will just get muddy again.

Then there’s me. I rarely drive through puddles let alone mud, never transport anything heavier than my laptop, and if I owned the old Hilux I’m currently looking at on AutoTrader, then I’d probably wash it most weeks.

Yep, I don’t need a truck for trucking, I just want one. And because of this, I’d probably be quite interested in a fast back, specifically this one made by Michigan Vehicle Solutions. Previously they’ve been most well known for restoring old cars, but now they’re touching on what I think is a goldmine.

Their Aero X fast back modification is taken straight from the Ford Mustang handbook and fits onto the back of your 2015 or later Ford F-150. At the moment, that’s the only truck it fits, but it will soon be coming to the Ram, Silverado, Ford Super Duty, Ranger, Colorado, Titan, Tacoma, and Tundra.

Now the thing about this is it doesn’t completely ruin the truck’s capabilities. Not only does it actually improve the truck’s aerodynamics, but you can open the truck bed and still use the pick up as intended. It’s completely waterproof, lockable, and gives the truck bed UV protection. Plus, your truck kinda looks like a Mustang. And really, it’s not a bad price sitting at $3995 + Shipping. And that includes everything, including matching paint.

So if you’re a serious trucker or just someone who owns a truck to tower above every other road user, but in need of a bit more protection and that iconic fast back look, you might want to take a look at this. I certainly am… but I need one for a Hilux please.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
