Here Are All Of Jeremy Clarkson’s Banned And Rejected Adverts For His New Lager So Far
Merely weeks ago, Jeremy Clarkson released a new product at Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Hawkstone Lager. It’s been an immediate hit, with it already gaining countless praise and becoming one of the most successful lagers to be sold on Amazon Prime. But, The Grand Tour presenter has had a bit of an issue putting together adverts for TV, with three of his idea so far being rejected or banned.
Of course, this is a hilarious way to promote the lager, but nonetheless, it sparked our interest and has been entertaining fans for the last few weeks.
Named after the Hawkstone rock near Clarkson’s Farm in Oxfordshire, the lager is said to be “Hewn from the mineral-rich bedrock of the Cotswold Hills”.
“The Hawkstone, a Neolithic standing stone which gives our lager its name has stood for generations. The Cotswold Brash soil in which it rests is hard and unforgiving. But for those who persist (like Jeremy Clarkson), it yields malting barley of unusually high quality – ideal for brewing. After harvest, our master brewer painstakingly and meticulously combines the barley with select hops, yeast and the purest local water before allowing it to mature for up to 6 weeks, during which time it develops its distinctively clean flavour. Hard to make — easy to drink.”
The first promotional video came at the beginning of December, with Jeremy discussing the importance of the rock. But after telling the camera that the lager had been named in honour of the rock, he takes a sip as the video fades to the end sequence. “F**k me that’s good,” he says.
The next promotional video came soon after, with Jeremy explaining how it takes 30 days for his company to brew the lager. He compares this to the bible, saying how God took six days to create the world, therefore the lager is five times as good.
“Well it’s better than Birmingham, that’s for sure.
“And Spain,” he says as the video ends.
The latest video begins with Jeremy taking a long swig of the Hawkstone lager. “You can’t beat a cold, refreshing pint of my lager before heading out to work in the morning,” he tells the camera.
The camera zooms out as he gets up and tells Lisa Hogan, his partner, that he’ll be back at “about six”. She looks at him blankly… and it’s hilarious.
This, Mr Clarkson, is advertising at its best. Now… when is my Hawkstone lager arriving?
