‘James May: Our Man In The USA’ Has Been Confirmed For 2022 Release – Details Here
James May: Our Man In Japan was a clear success with fans of The Grand Tour presenter appreciating his take on one of the most interesting countries in the world. James’ enthusiasm for the many different cultures and regions of the area was addictive, and his scattering of humour throughout the show was morish.
Now, the travel series returns, and it’s the USA that’s getting the attention this time with James travelling 4,000 miles around the country “where he will be immersing himself completely in the real American way of life to discover its true flavour”.

The ex-Top Gear presenter will travel from Cape Cod to Seattle, via New York, Detroit, Nashville, New Orleans, Houston, Santa Fe, Las Vegas, and LA with the aim to completely envelope himself in the American way.
“I’m setting off with two objectives: To go West, like the settlers and prospectors of old, and not get fat on American breakfasts in the process,” said James May. “As a man brought up (raised) on U.S. cop shows and Hollywood films, I still believe that everything in America must be better; from the size of their fridges to the uncanny alignment of their teeth. But is it?”
It’s been a long time since the first series of the ‘Our Man In…’ travel show thanks to the pandemic restricting travel, but Dan Grabiner, Head of UK Originals at Amazon Studios is excited to get back into the swing of things.
“Exhilarating as James exploring his own kitchen is, we are thrilled to be getting Our Man back on the road for another adventure,” said Grabiner, “Our Man in Japan’s anti-travelogue approach was a hit with Prime Video audiences, and we are so excited to finally be able to re-assemble this brilliant team for their next journey.”

Behind the show will be the same team from the first series who were able to capture James’ passion and humour so well, including BAFTA-nominated series director Tom Whitter (James May’s Toy Stories, Cars of the People) and executive producer Will Daws (James May’s Toy Stories, Amazing Spaces).
It will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2022 in over 240 countries and territories.
Have James visit the Field of Dreams in Dyersville Iowa. I’ll give him a personal tour of it as well as several of my favorite pubs in the area.
