James May Reveals Update On His Own App

James May has been rather quiet about his app, ‘My Theory Test‘, but during this near-silence, the app has had over 500,000 downloads with an average rating of 4.8 stars on Android alone. Now, he’s revealed the app has been updated to be even better than it already is.

He describes the update in a video:

“We’ve improved the hazard perception section in response to popular demand – that’s you – I now show you exactly where to quick so there’s no excuse for failing, etc,” he tells the camera.

“Embrace the boredom.”

The official website of the app has this to say about it, from its overlord Grand Tour presenter:

With the help of some rather clever developers I’ve created the ultimate tool to help you, the nation’s future drivers, pass your driving theory test. Using a bit of algorithmic wizardry and infused with my 40+ years of driving experience, my app generates a bespoke training plan for you, ensuring you learn all of the material in time for your test. All you need is a smartphone and a few spare minutes a day; you’ll hardly know you’re doing it!

A free demo version of the app is now also available on Android. You can access a free training plan each day (with multiple choice questions and hazard perception clips) to try it out – for absolutely nothing. Amazing but true. If you like the app and want to get serious about passing your driving theory test, you can then upgrade to the full version.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
