Jeremy Clarkson Is Left Broken Hearted After Beloved Daily Driver Breaks Down

Those of us who know Jeremy Clarkson’s history of cars knows that while he loves a classic Alfa Romeo and the odd supercar, there are two cars he’d never be without. The first is a Volvo XC90, which he used to use solely for the school run. The second is a car he’d use for everything else, a diesel Range Rover.

Now, according to a recent column by The Grand Tour host, his “loyal companion” has broken down and this has left Clarkson “heartbroken” now he’s been left with the option of writing it off with the repair costs looking to be around £4,500.

According to Clarkson, the turbos failed causing the engine to go into hydraulic lock when oil gushed into one of the cylinders, bring great sadness to the ex-Top Gear presenter. He explains while he could afford to get the car fixed, it’s more likely he’ll push himself to move on and buy something new.

“My Range Rover is 13 years old. I have used it to take my children to school and to university,” he began.

“It’s watched them grow up and it’s been with me through thick and thin, through good times and bad.

“It’s been a loyal companion, as important to me as your dog is to you.

“And now it’s broken. And I’m heartbroken.”

Clarkson explains how it would economically a good idea to cut his losses and sell the car for parts.

“I can’t though. I just can’t,” he ends.

Despite this upset, Clarkson, alongside Richard Hammond and James May, were proud to announce yesterday that the next episode of The Grand Tour was being released a day earlier than expected. The special, that takes the trio to Madagascar in three off-roaders, is named A Massive Hunt and is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
