Jeremy Clarkson and James May Have Fun With Hamster Accident

Good news, everyone: Yesterday we covered the report on Richard Hammond suffering a “serious crash” while filming in Mozambique for The Grand Tour. But now it seems like the crash wasn’t as horrible as the Sun made us believe.

Hamster “can’t get a book out of” his accident

A little while after the reports about Hammond’s crash had upset his fans, our beloved Hamster made the following statement on Drivetribe:

It’s true, I did fall off a motorbike whilst filming recently for The Grand Tour in Mozambique. I banged my head, yes, along with pretty much everything else apart from my left thumb, which remains un-bruised. Can’t tell you more yet about the how and why of it; that’s all for later in the year on the show. As for injuries; well put it this way, I don’t think I can get a book out of it.

It seems like Hammond is totally fine after all, regarding the circumstances. At least we will probably get a glimpse on what really happened when The Grand Tour’s second season arrives this fall.

Why so serious? Jeremy and James crack jokes about Hammond’s accident

While Hammond told his fans that he was actually fine, Jeremy Clarkson and James May were having a great time cracking jokes on his behalf. As Hammond titled his post on DriveTribe with a promise that he’d still pay back his debts, May wrote:

You’ve reminded me that you do, in fact, owe me £4.

Jeremy Clarkson on the other hand twittered:

Overall, it seems like we actually don’t have to worry that much about Hammond. If the guys can already make fun of it, then it can’t have been as serious as The Sun wanted us to believe. We still wish Hammond all the best and a quick recovery – so that he can enlighten us with his stunts on The Grand Tour for years to come.
