Jeremy Clarkson On Prime Minister Liz Truss: “IQ Of A Stone”
The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson has spoken out on Prime Minister Liz Truss after her reading at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, referring to her delivery being like that of a “Dalek”. Jeremy continued to add that while other leaders delivered their readings with “feeling”, Truss sounded like a 6-year old reading poetry.
The Clarkson’s Farm presenter wrote about his first experience listening to the Prime Minister speak – at the funeral – which he said sounded like “a six-year-old who’d been told to read John Donne poetry out in class.”
“It sounded like it was being read by someone who couldn’t understand what the words meant.
“Or by someone who had the IQ of a stone.”
Jeremy Clarkson added insult to injury as he admitted that when he heard the second reading at the Queen’s funeral, he thought it was “more wooden than the altar.”
“She probably thought, as she sat down afterwards, that she’d done a good job.
“She’d got all the words in the correct order and hadn’t accidentally used the word “vagina”.
“But it’s not what you say, it’s how you say it. And she had said it all wrong. I couldn’t believe it.
“It sounded like she was telling people the post office would be closing in 15 minutes. She sounded like a Dalek.”
At the time, Truss was one of many who paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth, but she did so from outside 10 Downing Street following the news of her passing:
“With the passing of the second Elizabethan age, we usher in a new era in the magnificent history of our great country, exactly as Her Majesty would have wished, by saying the words … God save the King,” she ended her speech with.
