Jeremy Clarkson Returns To Camera To Give Fans A Post-Covid Update On Farm

Jeremy Clarkson may usually take to the camera for The Grand Tour, but today he’s stepped in front of the camera to update his fans on his condition after catching Covid-19 over the Christmas period. This is the first public appearance he’s made since he contracted the virus, and looks in good health as he feeds his trout.

As we watch his throw fish food into his trout pond, he tells us the following:

“Hello everybody and thank you for your good wishes.

“I did have Covid. I didn’t, as the newspapers reported, ‘battle it’.”

He looks older in this clip thanks to him now sporting facial hair.

He continues:

“I lay in bed with what felt like a cold, reading a book until it went away, which it now has, I’m delighted to say.

“So chin up, and if you want to buy a trout, these will be ready very soon.”

He has continued to work on his farm, named Diddly Squat for his upcoming solo show, I Bought The Farm, which is expected to be released sometime this year.

Fans were quick to chime in with wishes of good health:

“So glad you’re feeling better…and now feeding fish,” one said.

“Four days before Christmas, I woke in the night to find my sheets were soggy. And that I had a constant dry cough,” Clarkson originally wrote in a recent column, explaining his thoughts on contracting the virus that is now sweeping the nation.

After Googling his symptoms, he decided to go to the doctors for a test: “The doctor was very clear – I’d feel under the weather for between five and 14 days and then I’d either get better or I’d have to go to hospital.

“Because I am 60 and fat, and because I’ve smoked half a million cigarettes and had double pneumonia, I’d probably die, on my own, in a lonely plastic tent.”

He added finally: “I’m not going to lie — it was quite scary!”

Fellow presenter of The Grand Tour and previously Top Gear Richard Hammond has just released the trailer to his new solo show, The Great Escapists, featuring him and Mythbusters presenter Tory Belleci. Together, they’re tasked with surviving on a desert island with only resources from their shipwreck and their knowledge to help them through.

It will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video from January 29.
