Jeremy Clarkson Slams The BBC Once Again In Front Of Fans

The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson called out the BBC on Twitter last night regarding Boris Johson’s latest update on the rulings around the Coronavirus lockdowns.

In front of his 7.2 million followers, Clarkson slammed the BBC when he made a comment on how the channel had covered the national speech from Boris Johnson where he addressed the updated three-tier version of the UK’s new restrictions.

“The BBC has just decided that a trailer for The Wall is more important than the new Covid measures,” he tweeted as the BBC coverage cut out for other programming. Instead, the channel pushed viewers to BBC Parliament if they wanted to continue watching.

This came only an hour after Clarkson has already complained about the BBC’s choice of content when they asked people on the street their opinions.

“BBC News. You are doing it again,” he tweeted. “I know it’s a cheap way of filling the time but we are NOT interested in what people in the street think.”

Fans were quick to agree with the ex-Top Gear presenter, with some angered by the fact they have to pay a TV license which funds the BBC.

We recently followed Jeremy Clarkson and the rest of The Grand Tour team, including Richard Hammond and James May, as they filmed in Scotland. But once they returned home, rumours began spreading that the team had attended an after-party in one of the hotels they stayed in, breaching local Covid regulations.

The hotel released the following statement on Facebook:

In light of recent social media posts, we thought it appropriate to correct some of the mis-information about our involvement with The Grand Tour.
Firstly, we would like to make it clear that there is no ‘after party’ being held at the hotel and that all members of the The Grand Tour team are following the same rules and guidelines put in place for everyone, including the curfew of 10pm for hospitality and licensed premises. We work closely with Police Scotland who are aware of our operating procedures and application.
The Grand Tour have been exemplary in their approach to COVID-19 and they have communicated with the relevant local authorities for this event to happen. They have also brought with them a dedicated COVID-19 testing facility with their team members being tested regularly. As part of this approach to help reduce contact and interaction with our staff and local community they have also brought their own catering services to provide their meals, which includes the provision of plastic cutlery which Jeremy seems to be struggling with 😆
As a whole we see this as a positive event for the local community and our staff, which does act as a slight distraction when there is so much angst around.
Stay Safe everyone and remember FACTS.

Jeremy Clarkson, only weeks before, also posted to Instagram complaining that the team had implemented strict Covid regulations themselves. The likelihood of this rumour being true is low.
