Jeremy Clarkson Successfully Raises Funds For Ukraine Rescue Vehicles: The ‘Diddly Brave Department’
A few weeks ago, Jeremy Clarkson shared a message to his Instagram account asking for his 4.7 million followers to kindly donate to support a beekeeper at his Diddly Squat Farm.
Viktor Zaichenko, a Ukrainian man who works on Jeremy’s farm, has friends and family who are still in Ukraine as Russia continues its attack on the country. But Jeremy’s fans rallied and have successfully funded the purchase of five trucks which the newly named ‘Diddly Brave department’ can use to drive into Ukraine with resources in tow to help and evacuate people in danger from the country.
“Sorry to barge in here like this, but Viktor the ‘bee man’ at Diddly Squat farm is Ukrainian. He’s got a lot of family and friends who are stuck there and need our help,” Jeremy said in an Instagram story.
“You can donate money which will help them buy vehicles that they need to evacuate people who are stuck behind Russian lines.
“I can hardly believe I’m saying this in Europe today, but anyway, they are stuck, they need to get them out. So pickup trucks, anything they can get their hands on. That’s what they need the money for. Please please help, if you can.”
The Just Giving page has now reached £51,270 at the time of writing to fund this, and the trucks have been purchased.
The post read:
“To everyone that bought our Diddly Squat Bee Juice & donated, your generosity translated into 5 rescue vehicles that were delivered from the farm to the border of Ukraine by our Diddly Brave department. Thank you all.”
Jeremy himself also posted another message to his personal account:
“Thanks to the generosity of those who donated, we were able to buy these pick up trucks and this weekend, a team from Diddly Squat loaded them up with humanitarian supplies and drove them to Ukraine, where they will now be used to evacuate those who are trapped by the fighting. Well done to all of you. Really well done. Take Monday off!!!”
