Jeremy Clarkson Went Too Far In Recent Column With “Utterly Vile and Hateful Comments” As He’s Branded Racist Once Again

Jeremy Clarkson has come under extreme fire after The Sun published his latest column. Talking about his “hate” for Meghan Markle, he’s now been criticised once again for being racist through “utterly vile and disgusting comments”. In fact, it’s made such a mark on readers, the term ‘Jeremy Clarkson’ is now trending on Twitter with over 76,000 tweets on the subject at the time of writing.

In the column, he writes about how he hates “her on a cellular level”, before explaining what he wants to happen to her:

“At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”

Meghan Markle has been in headlines plenty recently after her and her husband Prince William released a Netflix documentary on the actress joining the royal family and the issues that accompanied it. Many haven’t appreciated the documentary, Jeremy Clarkson being one of them.

“Everyone who’s my age thinks the same way,” The Grand Tour presenter continued.

Readers of the article took to Twitter to bent their anger.

“Literally gobsmacked at the utterly vile and disgusting comments written about Meghan Markle by Jeremy Clarkson in the Sun. What an utter piece of trash he is…what is it with these type of men that triggers them so?” one user asks.

Even Carol Vorderman, the mathematical brains behind Countdown and a celebrity that’s featured on Top Gear and The Grand Tour several times, has voiced her concerns:

“NO Jeremy Clarkson. Not on any level, in any circumstance, is it ok to write this stuff about any woman & absolutely NO to ‘everyone who’s my age thinks the same’ No no no. We absolutely do NOT think the same. Listen to the noise Jeremy. The crowds are chanting ‘shame on YOU'”

Of course, some are calling Jeremy out as a racist:

“This is a great time to remind everyone, that Jeremy Clarkson was fired for being a racist.”

One user even wonders if this could spell the end of The Sun, the outlet behind the publishing of the column:

“Anyone else slightly excited at the fact that finally, The S*n could have gone one step too far by allowing Jeremy Clarkson’s remarks to be published? Could this be … you know … it?”

The tweets continue, with one user asking how Jeremy’s daughters would feel if a comment like that was aimed at them:

Jeremy Clarkson has 2 daughters. I wonder how he would feel if someone said the vile things he said about Meghan to them, via a National Newspaper”

Another user even asks for Jeremy to be arrested for “incitement of violence against a woman”:

“Jeremy Clarkson should be arrested for incitement of violence against a woman. This is the way “society” works – open displays of hate, misogyny, racism. It is nauseating that anyone can defend any part of this behaviour & yet many of us are conditioned to cope & not complain.”

It’s fair to say Jeremy has gone too far with this column. He’s yet to comment on the resulting backlash, but I’m not sure this is going to go away quietly.
