Jeremy Clarkson’s Lamborghini’s Brakes Fail At 190MPH At Imola Race Track

Formula 1 has returned to Imola for the first time since 2006, it is the site of the 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. We all remember it for the track Jeremy, Richard and James took their supercars to beat the Ferrari 458 on one of the Top Gear episodes. Jeremy Clarkson is apparently also reminiscing as he watches the F1 cars round the same corners as he did in his Aventador.

Imola holds a special place for Jeremy, saying it is his favorite track of all, and you can see why. Imola is one of the most dangerous tracks in the world because it is very narrow and fast. The track used to be even more dangerous but after Senna’s fatal crash in 1994 changes were made to slow it down. Even after these changes were made Imola is still not to be taken lightly.

The trio took their Lamborghini Aventador, Mclaren MP4-12C and Noble M600 to Imola to beat the Ferrari 458’s time set by Italian Stig. After Jeremy boasted about the Lambo’s carbon ceramic brakes they overheated and nearly sent him into the wall at 186mph. This wasn’t the only mishap of the day. Richard also ran off the track when his Noble lost control. The M600 isn’t very driver friendly with virtually no driver aids. Pair that with Hammonds driving and you end up having to dig gravel out of the Nobles front bumper. Pressing your limits at Imola with supercars is quite the bold undertaking. The track has claimed F1 legends and nearly claimed Jeremy and Richard in one day.

We are all very excited to see Imola back on the F1 calendar and hope to see some fast paced action. Also now F1 drivers cannot use the excuse that the track is too narrow and fast for lots of overtaking, because Jeremy claims that he overtook James May everywhere at the track. Did you hear that Lewis Hamilton?
