Richard Hammond Debuts All-New Format To Show As He Interviews Mat Armstrong

DriveTribe has made several evolutions recently. Over the past year they’ve taken down their self-proclaimed social media site for car enthusiasts, DriveTribe.com, and now they’re focussing only on their social media channels. These channels were once used as gateways to the website, but now they stand as hubs for car lovers.

The YouTube channel has also undergone a few changes. Now, it’s mainly just Richard Hammond who makes an appearance out of the three Grand Tour presenters, alongside DriveTribe full-timer Mike Fernie. Now in the latest change, they’re taking over Hammond’s Smallest Cog workshop to film interviews with some of the most popular motoring YouTubers in the country.

Mat Armstrong

Mat Armstrong is a YouTuber who vlogs the modification of cars he’s “scraped from the gutter”. This includes a BMW M3, which features in DriveTribe’s latest video, a wide-bodied Maserati Gran Turismo on airbag suspension, and an Audi R8 just to name a few.

He sits down with Hammond to discuss why he modifies cars, what the future of modifying cars is going to look like, and the reaction he gets from the public to the cars he’s modified. You can watch it below:

Mat also filmed the behind the scenes of his day with Richard Hammond and the guys from DriveTribe. You can check that out below:

Alex Harrington

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
