Richard Hammond Speaks Out On Ken Block’s Death After Tragic Accident
The motoring world was extremely saddened to hear of the death of rally and gymkhana star Ken Block yesterday after a tragic accident involving a snowmobile.
The Grand Tour presenter James May posted a tribute to Twitter, celebrating the driver’s venture into the world of Top Gear as he drove May around an abandoned airfield.
“RIP Ken Block, with thanks for some hilarious days out. Here’s the airfield drifting piece from years back,” he posted alongside the video to the Top Gear piece.
Now, co-presenter Richard Hammond has also written a tribute to the fallen gymkhana star:
“His family have lost such a passionate dynamo – their loss is being felt to an extent by millions of people. I hope they can take some comfort in seeing globally how many people were devastated when they saw the news.
“I wish I had spent more time with him, but like everyone else I am more than anything a fan of Ken.”
Through DriveTribe, the media company owned by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, the trio posted the following in tribute:
“All of us at DriveTribe are incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of a true legend. What a talent Ken was; His ability behind the wheel was matched by his attitude outside of a car; he was so well loved by his team and the people he worked with.
“He really wanted the best for them and for them to be the best they could. Rest In Peace.”
Even a day after, we’re still hurting from the sudden loss and wish Ken Block’s family and friends the best.
