The Grand Tour: A Scandi Flick Trailer + Release Date Revealed [WATCH NOW]

The trailer for The Grand Tour Norway Special has finally been released today giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming episode and the wait isn’t as long as you would think.

Along with releasing the trailer, Prime Video have now also confirmed that the release date will be the 16th September.

Here’s what Amazon has to say about the trailer:

“In the first episode of season 5 and their first post-pandemic road trip, Jeremy, Richard and James head for the icy wastes of the Scandinavian Arctic Circle.  At the wheel of their three favourite rally cars the boys embark on a catastrophe-filled adventure that takes in Cold War submarine bases – frozen lake racetracks, crashes and ski resort chaos as they drag their homemade houses from the coast of Norway to the Russian Border.”

The trailer starts with a birds eye view over a football pitch with the hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, kicking a ball about. The fast-paced video then pans out to show the incredible scenery. We know already that this is the Henningsvaer Football Stadium.

Clarkson then reveals the task they are given, saying:

“We are here to travel across Europe’s last great wilderness.”

The video goes on to show the cars creeping through the snow covered woodland at night, Clarkson having some ‘ventilation’ issues in what looks to be a moving cabin and, the trio pulling people skiing along with their chosen rally cars. We later see that, when Clarkson presumably chooses his cabin, May has decided to tow some sort of bus shelter.

It has already previously been revealed that the trio had to choose the best rally car to bring. Hammond chose a Subaru Impreza WRX, May chose a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII and Clarkson chose an Audi RS4 B7, which seems to have wound the other two up as we see Hammond exclaiming to Clarkson that he “brought the wrong thing”.

We can expect the episode to be full of the usual hilarious chemistry from the three hosts, as we can see in the trailer Clarkson saying “I am older, and with age has come…”. Before he can finish his sentence, Hammond very quickly chimes in with “weight”. Obviously, the three then burst in laughter which is just as contagious for the viewer.

The news of James May’s crash was leaked recently and it came out that the trio were in a tunnel, where the lights turned on only as they drove through it. We now get a better look at this challenge in the trailer, although they do not show the footage of May’s crash.

Towards the middle of the trailer, we see Clarkson setting fire to a car with Hammond saying over the top “how long until he sets fire to it.” Clarkson then realises he has over done it and runs away to safety.

Roll on September 16th.
