The Grand Tour

The Grand Tour Answers All Our Questions On Next Season 4 Episode In Blunt Tweet

Season 4 began over the Christmas period with the Christmas Special, Seamen. But where do we go from here? We know that Season 4 will only contain two episodes, but when is it being released? Clarkson, Hammond and May were spotted filming in Madagascar with three modified cars, but are they finished?

Well, The Grand Tour’s Twitter account answers all with a blunt and to the point tweet:

They confirm the fact that another special episode is coming following the previous. They also confirm that it will involve the filming in Madagascar that we’ve already discussed in a previous piece. Unfortunately, they don’t know when they’re going to release it.

Andy Wilman was clear when he previously discussed Season 4, and said that while him and the team have a basic idea of when the special episodes will be released, ultimately, the release date is down to Amazon Prime Video.

The tweet above also confirms our news that Season 4 is made of only special episodes. This hasn’t been taken so positively by fans who have loved the weekly episode format that Top Gear and The Grand Tour have been following since 2002.

Finally, the tweet promises to keep us updated, so we’ll be on the lookout for more clues about timings, but for now, we’re going to have to sit back, get comfortable, and wait for The Grand Tour team to release something closer to the time.

  1. Amazon doesn’t get it. We know the boys aren’t as young as they used to be and any normal person would expect them to slow down at some point. But as much as I like the specials, it’s got to be very hard on them. I don’t need an epic special to be happy watching the guys. They could make an episide in one day just doing basic things and it would be hilarious without trying to kill them. It’s not about the bug shows, though I like them. it’s about watching them interact with each other. I would be happy watching them change the oil on an ’83 Buick because they would make it entertaining. So many things they could do that would be cheap, quick and easy on them and keep them on the air for years to come. Remember when they spent time “enhancing” a backyard? It was hilarious and likely only took a few days to shoot in one location.

  2. I don’t think you should quit the grand tour guys it’s brilliant. I have an idea though, how about getting 3 young guys that represent all 3 of you lol. Have a younger Jeremy, younger Richard, and a younger James. Send them on your special trips and you choose the transport that they use. People would still watch the show just as much as they do now because it’s still your show. May you consider me do be part of this because I’d do anything for that role hahaha. Keep up the good work you all bloody great.

  3. It’s a damned shame. They really are treating the fans and customers in an unfit manner. When they said they would be doing just specials, they never even came close to hinting it would only be two episodes. Looks like its the end of the road for the three stooges. Its a shame, but all things must come to an end.

  4. Amazingly funny show. Even when jokes are scripted and predictable the blokes pull it off. Wife and I enjoy your show immensely. Please keep filming you have fans that depend on you.

  5. TWO episodes. Beyond disgusting – many subscribed to Prime just for this show… now they’re treated with utter disdain.
