The Grand Tour Insulted Scotland, And The Scots Aren’t Happy!
In the last episode of The Grand Tour, the trio drove three yet-to-appreciate classics through Scotland on what’s called the NC500 rally. It’s 500 miles of gorgeous road that run almost parallel to Scotland’s North Coast. But, as the episode begins, the trio aren’t overly complimentary about the country.
It turns out the Scots aren’t too happy with the comments the trio made, which ranged from:
“This isn’t exactly like the tourist authority would have you believe, is it?” from Clarkson, before Richard Hammond refers to the pebble dash-clad houses as being “battered”,
and,
“You can see why they want to be independent can’t you?” Clarkson quips, as Hammond sarcastically responds, “You wouldn’t want people messing all this up, would you?”
Towards the end of the episode, the show made fun of a Scottish stereotype: their affinity to deep fried food. Hammond, on cooking for Jeremy’s birthday party, made deep fried spaghetti bolognese, obviously making fun of Scottish eating habits.
It was at this point, Twitter set alight with scolding tweets from Scottish people.
Just had to watch the newest episode of “The Grand Tour” where they drive around Scotland. Spoiler: they start their journey by making derogatory and condescending comments about people’s homes….

I watched it and at the end they admitted that Scotland has one of not thee best driving road they have ever been on. One of the most beautiful sites I have seen on there show
If you think that’s snow flaky, try Living in America. Where if you don’t breathe solely out of your left nostril, a protest will gather in front of your home.
Once I leave my safe space and seek mental counsel, I will renew my Amazon account, disable parental controls, and watch some more Grand Tour.
Strange they never complained about the ending where the trio said they were indeed some of the best driving roads they have ever driven. Such a shame people only see the ‘bad’ bit but ignore the good. Would anyone really expect anything less from these 3? I sure don’t.

Honestly it adds character to the show, they were this way when they were on Top Gear and have carried that over into this show. If it bothers you so much then stop watching the show and let the rest of us enjoy it.
They admitted it was a joke to annoy their Scottish crew member. Once again, context is utterly ignored by the Outrage Brigade.
People need to get a life.. And a sense of humor

Oh FFS, they do this literally everywhere they go. They did it in Colombia, in India, in Thailand. Hell, they did it on their first major trip to the US and wildly mocked the South, where I am from. Was I offended? Was I “outraged”? No, because I can take a joke. F you if you can’t. Suck it up and move on with your life.
Perfectly said, they make fun of everyone, not just certain type of people, it what makes them the dynamic trio they are. If you are really sensitive about their jokes, dont watch it or get a cuddly blanket, go sit in the corner and suck your thumb.
Exactly.. I personally love the boys humor and I’m a middle-aged southern woman with a love of Corvettes and muscle cars.
