The Grand Tour: James May Gives Insight Into Future Episodes Of Famous Car Show

The Grand Tour: Carnage A Trois has been released on Amazon Prime Video to plenty of praise. And while still in the honeymoon period of this, James May talked to the press about what’s coming next for himself, Jeremy Clarkson, and Richard Hammond as they begin to think about traveling the world again.

The trio has had a long history of traveling around the world, so being forced to stay within the UK for their last two episodes thanks to the pandemic, pushed them to explore new ideas and new episode formats.

Talking to the press, James talked about where he’d like the show to go once travel restrictions are lifted, and it turns out he wants to go somewhere the trio hasn’t been before:

“Ideally somewhere we haven’t been yet,” he told the press. “We do have some ideas.

“We have some partly formed ideas on the back burner which we were working on before COVID stopped everything.”

He kept schtum about where he was planning to go, though: “But I can’t tell you what they are yet because we haven’t quite decided.”

In their previous two specials, Lochdown and Carnage A Trois, the trio explored the world of several American and French cars while staying within the UK borders. The former took place in Scotland and the latter saw the boys traveling from Wales to the South coast.

Despite these episodes being reviewed highly by fans, viewers are eager to watch the boys traveling across the world again.

James continued: “To be honest I don’t mind where we go.

“On a personal level, I prefer warm places to cold places.

“But the objective of the Grand Tour is not for us to have a holiday, it’s to entertain the viewers.

“So if that meant going somewhere cold where we were all miserable then I think the people watching this show would enjoy that,” James noted.

“So, to be honest, anywhere where we can tell a good story. I’m not that fussy.”

The Grand Tour: Carnage A Trois is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video now.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
