Twitter User Compares F1 Legends To Grand Tour Presenters In Hilarious Post

A Twitter user has chosen the three current F1 drivers that they believe are most similar to the iconic Top Gear and now Grand Tour trio, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, in a hilarious recent post.

Starting the list off is Fernando Alonso as Jeremy Clarkson, quoting the reasons as:

“Frightening genius, loves chaos and POWER, [and] could be a convincing Bond villain”

Alonso currently drives for Alpine but will be moving to Aston Martin for the 2023 season and is the longest competing F1 driver with 351 race starts throughout his career. The Spanish racing driver is often in a mix of exciting battles and is extremely talented at making it difficult for other drivers to overtake him.

Much like Jeremy Clarkson, he knows what he wants, and he gets it, while making it difficult for others.

The second on the list is Daniel Ricciardo, who they have likened to Richard Hammond for his “big smile”. The other two reasons they list are that he “loves USA” and is “always the positive one”.

Ricciardo has been a fan-favourite for years and this only increased with the release of Netflix’s ‘Drive To Survive’ as viewers were able to have a behind the scenes look in to the sport. Ricciardo’s hilarious personality and big smile have been the centre of many impressions, memes and viral interviews over the last couple of years.

Ricciardo currently drives for McLaren, however, it was announced earlier this year that he would be parting ways with the team at the end of the 2022 season and unfortunately for the Australian driver, it looks as though he is not going to have a seat on the 2023 grid.

Lastly, Valtteri Bottas has been chosen to represent James May, and with May’s recent crash on The Grand Tour, we are not sure if this is a compliment or not. The have chosen Bottas as he is “a bit slow at times” but is “very likeable”, “knows some weird facts”, and is a “s*x icon”. We agree entirely.

Bottas does seem to be a driver on the current F1 grid that likes to stay out of the drama with him rarely in the headlines for anything controversial, which is similar to May who clearly loves the quiet life when he is not filming.

A video of Bottas talking to Hamilton recently went viral where the former claims to know the average size of a beavers p***s, which reminds us of some of May’s random little nuggets of information, especially during his time in Japan.

Bottas drove alongside Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes for a number of years and made the move to Alpha Romeo for the 2022 season and is currently in a multi-year deal with the team.
