What Cars Does Robert Downey Jr. Own? Full Car Collection

Beginning his acting career at only 5 years old, Robert Downey Jr. made a lasting impression with his acting skills. His career started to flourish again after he starred in the well-known film Ironman, the proceeds of which allowed him to be spoilt with luxury. Being a car enthusiast, his riches have allowed him to collect his dream cars. Within the large variety, we’re going to take a closer look at the best cars at his disposable.

Audi A8L

Portraying Ironman for over 10 years, Downey has had the opportunity to experience Audi’s ever-growing collection. Marvel and Audi have had a relationship since 2008 when Tony Stark drove the Audi R8, so it’s not a surprise to see how Downey has fallen in love with Audi and has owned a number of Audi’s A8L. The A8L has a whopping 4.2-litre V8 and produces 371hp. It’s the perfect combination of comfort and sport for his ride to the red carpet.

Audi E-Tron GT

Alongside the A8L and many other Audis parked in his garage, he has the new E-Tron GT, which he arrived stylishly in to the world premier of Avengers: Endgame, and even Tony Stark made an appearance in it during the movie. The E-tron GT is an all-electric sedan with a top speed of 149mph. With two electric motors, one at the front and the other at the back, it produces 590hp with a 0-60mph of only 3.5 seconds.

1965 Chevrolet Corvette

Downey also shows an appreciation for the vintage style just as much as he does for the modern cars. It seems he spends more time in his 1965 Chevrolet Corvette then others. Straight off the assembly line, the Corvette came with a V8, allowing a top speed of 116mph. It’s understandable why he chooses to cruise in this beautiful classic roadster.

Ferrari California

Diving into something else besides Audi, he bought this stunning blue Ferrari California T with a twin turbocharged V8 with 553hp. With this in his amazing collection, Downey thinks that even Tony Stark’s collection couldn’t compare. He even commented, “in real life, any Ferrari is more exciting than Tony Stark’s Audi R8.”

Boss Mustang

With his love of muscle, Downey teamed up with Speedkore to build a custom 1970 Mustang. Based off the original 1970 Boss Mustang 302, the interior has been completely customized to Downey’s taste. Styling it with beautiful brown leather lining and custom steering wheel, it keeps the vintage look. But of course it still needs an gut-wrenching engine, so Ford gave it a 5.0-liter V8 with a Stage 2 Ford Performance/Roush Supercharger.

Acura NSX

Last but not least, though Downey doesn’t own this sports car We need to give it some special attention. In Ironman 3, Tony Stark drives a custom Acura NSX which everyone thought was a concept car, but little did they know, it wasn’t. It was actually a 1991 Acura NSX with the original interior. Only the body was modified for the movie. With its original 270hp 3.0-litre V6, the actual top speed was limited to only 30mph due to its structural integrity.
