What could The Grand Tour be doing in Colorado?
Jeremy doesn’t usually take to Twitter that often, but thankfully in this case he did.
From his tweet stating “London to Grand Junction, Colorado – 18 hours. Has anyone ever taken longer than that?”, it would be safe to assume that he is indeed in Colorado.

You can see by the tweet below all three of them were spotted in Dallas on the way to Colorado. They’re definitely there for filming!

We have no idea what they’re doing there, but let’s take a few minutes to ponder.
Colorado National Speedway lives within Colorado. Is Jeremy finally giving in to his anti-NASCAR views and settling into the seat of the american race car? I’m sure we’d all love to see Jezza’s face as he hurtles towards a wall at 200+mph. Hammond would love this too, as he is a mini american himself and would do anything to be reinforce the fact.
Track Racing – A race using their own cars
Colorado is home to High Plains Raceway. A small track for mostly amateur drivers, but also a perfect location to pit their own cars against each other. Especially since we know James is moving his Ferrari somewhere from one of his latest DriveTribe posts… He’s mentioned in the comments to this post that it’s having a stone chip repaired. May this be a cover up? Im hoping not.
Top Speed Race
Again, we know James has his own car on the move to somewhere, whether it’s going to Colorado with them we don’t know. But Colorado is home to one of the fastest 1-mile paved ovals in the world, at Pikes Peak International Raceway. They could be pitting their own cars against each other and racing to out-match each other’s top speeds. There are also drag strips galore throughout Colorado, so could the three be launching themselves down the quarter mile?
When you mention Pikes Peak, you can’t not mention the hill climb. This course takes drivers to an altitude of 14,000 feet. If the boys are going to be racing there way up this, let’s hope none of them are scared of heights!
Let us know in the comments what you think they might get up to, or if you don’t have a clue, what you’d like them to get up to! Whatever it is, we know it’s going to be good!
They’re shooting jaguar cars driving down our ski area in Telluride
PPIR & Pikes Peak would be a flight into Denver or Colorado Springs. Grand Junction is on the far West border next to Utah. I would have thought the writer of the article would check a map to see this first. My guess is also Moab and the sweet off-off-road 4×4 trails through the hills and dunes. Then maybe a visit to the Bonneville Flats of western Utah.
Million dollar highway is a possibility. Classic, expensive car museum in Gateway. Western Slope has excellent driving jaunts that last between 25 and 45 minutes and take you through the most beautiful country in the world.
They should swing by Unser Karting and do a go-kart race!
Miller Motorsports road circuit in Toele is ~100 miles from GJ. Closed but they drive at closed circuits all the time.
If they aren’t, they really should be stopping in at Flyin’ Miata while there.
Like the others said: Moab and/or Flyin’ Miata. But why didn’t they catch the direct flight from Heathrow straight to DIA?
Hmm. Flyin Miata hopefully. Checking out their 525 horse 2016 MX-5
Flyin’ Miata is near GJ, CO. They have that 525 horsepower ND Miata.
Grand Junction isn’t anywhere near Pikes Peak, PPIR, or HPR. Probably headed to Moab, UT.
The tweet said Grand Junction, which is on the western slope of Colorado. Every one of your suggestions is on the eastern slope of Colorado. My bet is they are heading to Moab. But, they are taking the scenic route. There is an off-road remote trail that takes about 3 days to get across to Moab. It starts just outside of Grand Junction.
On their way to Moab, I reckon.
Running million dollar hiway.
None of those things are near Grand Junction though. If there were going to do any four of those they would have just flown to Denver. My bet is on the car museum in Gateway, and a drive over the Colorado national monument.
All of these would be great, but I don’t think any of them are near grand junction. I know PPIR and Pikes Peak wouldnt make sense unless they want to drive through the mountains. Not sure where the others are, but likely not in the western slope
Well id guess with the others on moab..because as much as we love em theyre still Brits and prone to NOT come to america for anything much in the way of racetrack racing.(aparently thats what europe is for..??) However they DO come to this continent mostly for off road shenanigans or roadtrip adventure. So yeah id guess the 3 day off road trail to moab and end with an entry in whatever off road race is there
