Clarkson’s Farm: 7 Things That Have Gone Terribly Wrong

Farmers have the best job don't they? They get to sit in a tractor all day, enjoying the sunshine while their crops grow successfully and their animals are profitable. Well, as we're about to find out from Jeremy Clarkson on his new show Clarkson's Farm, it's not like that at all. In fact, it's one of the hardest jobs you could ever take on, with plenty to get wrong, lots of stress, and even when you've done everything perfectly, the weather can yank your revenue from in front of your eyes with a change of weather. Farming is difficult, and Jeremy, being new to the industry, found it incredibly hard to get going. Here's what went wrong... 7. Blown Tractor Tyre https://www.instagram.com/p/CFUnJiTgYWV Even the greatest of Lamborghini tractors get flat tyres. Although to be honest, this tractor hasn't been the most reliable of things. When he first bought it, it didn't have the right connection for any of his equipment, then the steering wheel came off, and then the brakes failed. In fact, it was so large that he couldn't even get it in his shed. Then when he was finally able to connect it to his equipment, it was so powerful that his equipment broke. Tractors Stuck In The Mud https://youtu.be/YM-FSYNMP-U It turns out that it's a good idea to make sure your tractor tyres have plenty of tread on them. Jeremy's didn't, so, of course, it and several other tractors trying to pull it out, all god stuck. Despite the Lamborghini tractor having over 200 horsepower, it doesn't mean anything if it can't get the power down to the ground. Go To Next Page 5. The Death Of An Owl https://www.instagram.com/p/B_0cHfugpYz Working on a farm and around the countryside where Clarkson lives, there's plenty of chances to come across animals in need of help. Clarkson took up upon himself to care for this baby owl who was a little worse for wear. Fans of the Grand Tour presenter were quick to show their condolences on the Instagram post after the presenter had grown close to it. He'd named the owl Boris, and had promised to do his best to help the poor thing. Unfortunately, sometimes nature can't be stopped. Go To Next Page 4. More Tractor Issues https://www.instagram.com/p/CFU-0Z6gh9m Sometimes you need to just admit defeat when a tractor fights back this hard. This time an attachment fell off as Clarkson was cultivating his land for growing crops. Fans were quick to respond to this post asking why Clarkson isn't simply using a hammer instead of his fancy farming equipment. Go To Next Page 3. Escaping Sheep https://www.instagram.com/p/CBOm7sRgXQw Sheep aren't the brightest of animals, but they're incredibly good at escaping from places - and if that doesn't work out for them, they'll just get stuck in a fence instead. With Clarkson attempting to breed sheep for profit, he bought almost 100 of the animals. Unfortunately, three of them had to be put down because of health issues, causing Clarkson a lot of sadness once he realised he couldn't say goodbye. Go To Next Page 2. Crops That Keep Failing https://www.instagram.com/p/B_uX3_uAkVP Turns out Clarkson really isn't that great at farming, with the majority of his rapeseed failing. We'll find out more about this when his show is finally released to Amazon Prime Video on June 11th. Clarkson takes plenty of shortcuts, but as his tractor driver Kaleb Cooper tells him, these shortcuts won't have a positive effect on his crop yield. Go To Next Page 1. A Poor American Accent https://www.instagram.com/p/B-SgMAXA_G- Clarkson isn't known for his love of Americans, but with even more of his crops failing, he's keen to give us his best American accent, complaining that "the Good Lord has taken our crops!" We'll have to wait until the show comes out later this month to know the full story behind his crop failure, but I'm guessing it may be something to do with him trying to cut corners.
