Fans Go Mad As BBC Attempts To Copy Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm Show

Jeremy Clarkson released his new farming show Clarkson’s Farm to high praise last year after The Grand Tour host chose to take over his own farm and film what happened. Fans quickly fell in love with the show as Jeremy and his team of talented and knowledgeable people peppered the show with information and humour.

Now, the BBC is looking to copy the idea, even after rejecting Jeremy’s idea initially when the presenter presented it to them.

Jeremy said at the time:

“I pitched the farming idea to the BBC when I bought the farm back in 2008 and all they were bothered about was where it would have been made.

“[They wanted to know] where the production office would be because at the time all they were bothered about was not making anything in London. They said, ‘Oh we can’t make anything in London.’ They didn’t want it.”

Jeremy continued:

“Amazon bit my hand off when I suggested it to them. I had given up on making a TV show as I was busy doing other things.

“But now I am not too busy and the great thing about this show, the farming show, is that it is the first thing I’ve ever done that’s totally unscripted.

“I mean Top Gear was unscripted to a point, but you had to plan what you’re doing and you know what’s going to happen.”

Despite this, the BBC is now planning a farming show with British actor Kelvin Fletcher at the helm. The setup is the same: he’s bought a farm and they’ll be filming him as he sets up and attempts to grow the business. This obvious comparison has angered fans after Clarkson drew focus to a fan’s tweet.

The initial tweet read:

“What a joke the @BBC are trying to copy @JeremyClarkson @netflix farming program! #KelvinsBigFarmingAdventure is embarrassing, Netflix 1 – BBC 0.”

Jeremy quickly swooped in to correct them on which streaming company was behind the show:

“Actually, mine is on Amazon.”

This opened up the floodgates to fans who were annoyed at the obvious copying.

One wrote:

“It is absolutely shameless though, even to the point of Kelvin having ‘sheep trouble'”

Another added:

“Hahaha there’s only one Clarkson’s farm, not convinced BBC have the budget for a lambo tractor either!!”

A third also noted:

“We all know Clarkson’s farm will be easy more entertaining then Big Boring Copycats.”

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
