Fans React To BBC Asking Jeremy Clarkson To Return To Top Gear

You may have heard that in a recent interview, The Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson admitted that the BBC had asked him to return to BBC’s Top Gear after its low popularity with the likes of Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc at its helm. After him, alongside Richard Hammond and James May had begun filming The Grand Tour, BBC producers asked the famous presenter to return.

According to Clarkson, he “had a meeting with a BBC executive… and they asked if I’d come back to Top Gear.”

“Too much has gone on,” he said. “After I’d been compared to Jimmy Savile by someone from the BBC and it was splashed all over a Sunday newspaper, how could I go back?”

Surprisingly, reactions were mixed in regards to The Grand Tour compared to Clarkson’s Top Gear history.

One fan even wondered if the addition of Elon Musk would help spice up what they describe as “an expensive and bloated mess”.

Alice shows her support for the big ape while proclaiming that she won’t watch new Top Gear. “It’s not the same anymore”, she says.

Sean, a fan of Clarkson’s version of Top Gear was quick to jump on the fact the new Top Gear very heavily relies on nostalgia and previous ideas. However, just to play devil’s advocate, it must be difficult to carry on with a show that’s done everything. Even Clarkson’s Top Gear started repeating itself as they got into their later seasons.

As you can see, the response to The Grand Tour and Top Gear is very mixed. And while there are very few who are commenting on the fact that Jeremy denied BBC of his return, it’s blatantly obvious that a lot of you aren’t happy with The Grand Tour.
