James May Teases New Cooking Show As Grand Tour Excitement Rises

James May has teased a continuation of his ‘Oh Cook‘ cooking show as fans have been asking him about his crash during the next episode of The Grand Tour.

It has been reported that James May crashed a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 during the filming of the upcoming, yet-to-be-named Grand Tour Norway special. During the days of filming, we saw that his yellow Evo had been damaged, but didn’t quite know the extent of the incident. Now, it’s been revealed that he was travelling at 75mph when he hit a wall, breaking a rib.

He was rushed to hospital and was fortunately okay to be released the next day to continue filming alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.

The Our Man In Italy presenter was flooded with messages from fans asking about his health after the crash, with him eventually speaking out on what happened.

Thank you for all your kind comments and funny jokes re my crash, but it was a while back, not that bad, and I’m perfectly OK. Apologies to Evo fans for binning the VIII. #Bellend

During this onslaught of comments from fans, one fan asked James if the cooking on the FoodTribe channel would continue.

“Hi James, will there be more the bim cooking the 70s food on the demolished FoodTribe channel? My mother likes them a lot. Thanks and sorry for taking your time.” they asked [sic].

The FoodTribe channel rebranded itself as ‘What Next?’ when the accompanying website shut down due to low revenue. Since then, it focusses on a bit of everything, with the recent focus being on James and Richard as they simply talk over gin and tonic.

In answer to the question, James admitted: “Elsewhere there will be,” hinting at the return of ‘Oh Cook’, or another similar show.

This could at a pinch refer to another YouTube channel, but with the demise of FoodTribe – a channel devoted to food and cooking, I highly doubt the DriveTribe team will want to visit this again. And despite May joking that his cooking show “failed” during Our Man in Italy, fans would love to see it return to Prime Video.

Only time will tell, but let’s cross our fingers.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
