For at least a year now, Jeremy Clarkson has been fighting with his local council in a battle to expand his Diddly Squat Farm. But thanks to a cheeky loophole, The Grand Tour presenter has finally had a victory with him being able to the restaurant he’s been fighting for.
He announced the opening of Diddly Squat Restaurant on his Twitter, excited to show off his “amazing food” from his farm:
“I’m thrilled to announce that you now have a chance to try the amazing food we grow and rear on my farm at the brand new (but quite rustic) Diddly Squat Restaurant,” he wrote.
“You can’t just turn up I’m afraid, but you can make a booking by following the link.”
The restaurant opened to immediate success with it now being very difficult to book a slot through OpenTable.

“Good news!” one fan commented, referencing fellow presenter James May’s famous line from Top Gear.
“An restaurant,” another joked.
As this restaurant isn’t a traditional restaurant – likely to get around the council’s restrictions – you must book in advance to land a table. This can be done through the OpenTable website linked above. You mustn’t turn up without a booking, you will be turned away.
The restaurant also warns people of its nature – again, likely thanks to council restrictions:
“Before making your booking, you should know it’s small, mostly outdoors and very rustic,” it says on its website.
“Ordering a beer or going to the lavatory isn’t as easy as in your local pub and we don’t cater to the faddy.
“We’ve done our best to keep you warm and dry, but this is England.
“On the upside, the view is enormous and almost everything you eat was grown or reared on our farm, so it’s fresh with minimal food miles.
“There is no menu as such – we simply serve what’s available that day.
“But worry not, your table will be given a selection of snacks and starters followed by a roast and a pudding.
“Our bread, made with Hawkstone lager is absolutely brilliant.”
We’ll be doing out best to get a table at the famous Diddly Squat Farm sometime soon.
