Jeremy Clarkson Worries For His Employment After Controversial Past

Jeremy Clarkson, the Grand Tour presenter who has recently released yet another show to his name called Clarkson’s Farm, has revealed in a recent column that he’s worried about his professional future. “I eat meat, use petrol and say the wrong thing. My days in gainful employment must be numbered,”he says, talking about modern day cancel culture.

The presenter worries that he’ll say something “unacceptable”, and because of the backlash he’ll presumably receive, will lose job as a journalist.

He continued in his column for The Sunday Times:

“For some time now I’ve harboured a worrying sense that soon everyone will be sacked, because all of us are in a minefield and eventually we are bound to tread on something that goes bang.

“Or we will be hit by shrapnel from something we trod on back when we were teenagers.”

He adds that even his words are censored within his columns:

“I know that the Sunday Times sub-editors do their very best every week to delete views that they fear will cast me into a vat of scalding-hot public opinion, but the fact is that sooner or later I’ll come here and say something that is deemed by the hysterical court of public opinion to be unacceptable, and that’ll be that.

“I’ll be gone.”

Jeremy also admits that quite a few of his friends are worried about the same thing.

“It’s really scary for people who still eat meat and use petrol and continue to share inappropriate jokes on private WhatsApp groups.

“Because you’re on borrowed time, and soon you’ll get a tap on the shoulder from the HR Stasi.”

This, according to Clarkson, is often spoken about:

“They know that if they continue to eat and do and say whatever they’ve eaten and done and said for the past 40 years, they’re going to be out of a job.

“And even if they don’t, they’ll still be out on their ear for having eaten and said and done it back in 1974.”

Phillipa Sage, a former colleague of Jeremy Clarkson during the days of Top Gear, has admitted that Clarkson was watched closely by the BBC for anything “controversial” while working for them. This isn’t surprising, as the presenter is known to cause a stir with some of the things he says. Click the big button below to read about them.

Alex Harrington

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
