Top Gear Crash: Details on Freddie Flintoff’s Injuries Emerge After “Nasty” Accident During Filming

Freddie Flintoff, current-Top Gear star and former cricket player, was involved in an accident yesterday while filming for the upcoming series of the BBC car show. While not so much was known about this as it was originally reported, family members have now revealed more details on his injuries.

The BBC were the first to release a statement:

“He received medical care at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment. The incident happened at Top Gear’s test track at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey.

“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and a BBC spokesperson said details would be confirmed ‘in due course’. It is understood that the accident did not happen at high speed.”

Flintoff’s son also talked to the press, admitting that he was “lucky to be alive” as he was airlifted to hospital from the Top Gear Test Track.

“I’m not too sure what happened but he is lucky to be alive,” he said. “It was a pretty nasty crash. It is shocking. We are all shocked but just hope he’s going to be OK.”

Now another relative of the car show presenter has added to the news:

“I know he has a badly cut face and a broken rib. It’s a worry but he is OK,” the source told The Sun.

Chris Harris was at the track when it happened but is yet to divulge any information on the subject, but another anonymous source had told The Sun:

“All the usual health and safety measures were in place for filming too. Freddie was taken to hospital by air ambulance shortly afterwards.

“Filming has been postponed for now and all anyone cares about is Freddie recovering.”
