The Grand Tour’s Richard Hammond joined the new Top Gear lineup as all four presenters attended the vintage sports car club rally in Herefordshire. And while Top Gear and Richard Hammond were there for different reasons, this isn’t the first time Top Gear and The Grand Tour have come together.
Chris Harris, Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness were each competing at the course at How Caple Court, and were obviously filming for the upcoming series of the BBC car show. The reasoning behind Hammond being there isn’t so obvious, but it’s likely that he was there simply for the enjoyment of the event, especially with him living so close in Weston-under-Penyard, Herefordshire.
Richard Hammond previously joined the Top Gear team on the passing of German racing driver Sabine Schmitz. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May joined the BBC once again to film a tribute to the driver who passed away over a year ago from cancer.
Top Gear is set to release its next series later this year after filming mostly wraps up for the three. Chris Harris posted the following photo to Instagram from the event with the caption: “Final day’s filming for this run of @topgear with this pair of planks. Sunshine, old cars and constant laughter.”
