Is the Tesla Cybertruck Arrow-Proof? Elon Musk and Joe Rogan Test Its Strength

During a podcast appearance, Elon Musk and Joe Rogan conducted an unconventional test of the Tesla Cybertruck's durability.

In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, Elon Musk and Joe Rogan conducted a unique test to determine the strength of the Tesla Cybertruck’s stainless steel exterior. What they discovered was nothing short of astonishing.

Key Takeaways:

  • During an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, Elon Musk and Joe Rogan decided to test the strength of the Tesla Cybertruck’s stainless steel exterior by firing an arrow at it.
  • The arrow, shot from a powerful compound bow, rebounded off the Cybertruck’s rear door, flattening its point and causing only a minor dent on the panel.
  • Tesla plans to release a video at the November 30 handover event showing what happens when the Cybertruck is shot with a Tommy submachine gun, a 45mm shotgun, and a 9mm gun. However, it’s worth noting that the Cybertruck’s windows are not armored.

Just last month, a Tesla Cybertruck was spotted driving on a highway in California with many bullet marks on the driver-side exterior, indicating that it has been going through some tough tests that are otherwise not performed on a normal road car.

While being hosted on the Joe Rogan Experience, Musk recalled the bulletproof testing his electric truck went through that encouraged Rogan to ask if the vehicle in question could sustain a shot from a hunting bow.

The duo then had a $1 bet to try the test at that very moment. Rogan sent for his 90-pound compound bow that shoots 525-grain arrows at 300 feet per second (205 mph), to conduct an experiment that hadn’t been done on the Cybertruck.

“Can I try with an arrow. I bet I can get in there.”

With all objects in their respective positions, Musk allowed Rogan to shoot an arrow into the Cybertruck he had driven to the studio. The result of the shot was rather surprising because the body of the electric truck is so strong that it defended a hit from one of the most powerful bows out there.

After the arrow was fired, it merely rebounded off the rear door of the Cybertruck, flattening its point and causing a minor dent on the panel. Obviously, the shock could be seen on Rogan’s face who was highly impressed by Cybertruck’s stainless steel door panel.

Musk then revealed that Tesla would unveil a video that would show what happens when you empty an entire magazine of a Tommy submachine gun, a 45mm shotgun, and a 9mm gun on the side of the Cybertruck. The video will be shown at the November 30 handover event, which will mark the commencement of Cybertruck deliveries. However, Musk did specify that the windows on the Cybertruck aren’t armored.

“So, we just shot an arrow into it, and it barely scratched it. It was probably moving 275 feet a second, that was a 545 grain arrow, that’s impressive. It just destroyed the broad head, the broad head flattened at the tip, and then the arrow blew apart. Amazing,”

In summary:
Elon Musk and Joe Rogan tested the Tesla Cybertruck’s strength by firing an arrow at its stainless steel exterior during a podcast. The arrow remarkably rebounded off the truck’s rear door, flattening its point and causing only a minor dent. Tesla plans to reveal more extreme tests at the upcoming handover event.
