Watch A Lamborghini Huracan Take Off With Nitrous
You know what this Lamborghini Huracan needs? Nitrous injection. Said absolutely no one. But it was done anyway!
The very lucky owner of this Lamborghini has armed it with two full bottles of what he describes as ‘magic’. Some may just call Tony mad, but he’s down at the half mile drag strip at Rafael Hernández Airport in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Mad or not, he’s here to conquer his latest personal best.
The Huracan is probably one of the least deservant of the N2O drug as it already boasts a ridiculous 5.2 litre naturally aspirated V10, 602hp, a top speed of over 200mph, and a 60mph sprint can be achieved in only 3.2 seconds. Its performance unconditionally complements its fighter jet styled interior.
With the 75 shot of nitrous, the car escalates from being animalistic to simply diabolical.
Now for a brief chemistry class on how nitrous works.
N2O is very simply nitrogen and oxygen bonded together. When it’s injected into the engine and heated up these elements split, meaning there’s more oxygen to combust. A side-effect of using nitrous is that it cools down the intake air as well. This cool air is therefore denser, meaning there’s even more oxygen for the engine to use.
Nitrous is basically the liquid form of turbocharging, which is why so many gear heads refer to an engine with nitrous as not being naturally aspirated. Nitrous nitrous nitrous – have I said it enough yet? It’s not quite Fast and Furious, but it’s certainly the easiest way to make power. And the bottles act as a brilliant boasting tool, especially when they’re perfectly packaged and on display in the front boot of a Huracan.
There’s no report on how much power the Lambo now makes, but it’s probably around 675hp – enough for Tony to reach exactly 170mph on the half mile, resulting in an explosion of happiness and a beaming smile. And why wouldn’t you wear a beaming smile when you’ve got a bottled Lambo in your garage?
No wonder N2O is often referred to as laughing gas!
